Ⅰ.Product Description

Equipped with exclusive water-soluble eco pressure-sensitive adhesive, this is the core feature of our water soluble labels. In dry environments, the adhesive maintains stable and strong tack. The water dissolvable stickers stay firmly attached without lifting or falling off under normal indoor temperature and humidity, keeping identification information intact.

Once the water soluble labels come into contact with clean water, the adhesive hydrolyzes rapidly and loses stickiness instantly. Both the label face stock and backing glue dissolve together. After rinsing containers, there will be no adhesive traces or sticky residue left. No manual scraping or soaking for glue removal is required, and the surfaces of glass, ceramic, plastic, metal and other substrates will not get scratched. The adhesive formula of our zero residue water soluble stickers can be fine-tuned to fit normal-temperature washing and meet safety standards for food container cleaning.

Ⅱ.Product Material

The substrate is premium water-soluble specialty paper. Its paper fibers break down upon contact with water. When dry, the material features good tensile strength, resists tearing and cracking, and is not easy to damage during regular handling. The paper surface is coated with a special receptive layer, smooth and delicate. It supports thermal transfer ribbon printing, barcode printing and handwriting for water soluble labels. Printed texts, barcodes and patterns have strong adhesion and will not blur or smudge ink under dry conditions.

The base material is biodegradable and BPA-free, safe and eco-friendly. After dissolution, no solid residues are generated to avoid contamination. Perfect for food-related applications and reusable cleaning scenarios. We can supply water-soluble paper of different weights according to customer demands to match light bonding and moderate abrasion requirements.

Ⅲ.Application Scenarios

1. Food & Bakery Industry: Glass jars, sauce bottles, bakery vessels, food storage containers and fresh produce turnover bins. When reusable containers are washed and recycled, the water soluble labels dissolve in water. It removes manual peeling and de-gluing work, improves the reuse efficiency of recyclable containers and prevents adhesive residue from contaminating food.

Ⅳ.Water-Soluble Specialty Paper vs Other Label Materials

1. Water-Soluble Specialty Paper

Made of hydrolyzable plant fibers with printable coating. It offers decent toughness when dry and supports thermal transfer printing and handwriting for water soluble labels.

Advantages: Fully dissolves after rinsing with clean water with no sticky traces; biodegradable and BPA-free. No peeling or glue removal required while cleaning food containers and lab glassware.

Limitations: Not suitable for long-term exposure to continuous high-humidity environments. Lamination is unavailable, as laminated film blocks water penetration and disables the dissolving function of water dissolvable stickers.

2. Coated Art Paper Labels

Made of standard wood pulp with non-water-soluble fibers.

 Features: Excellent printing performance at low cost, widely used for one-time outer packaging.

Difference: It only turns soggy in water instead of dissolving. Sticky residue tends to remain on container surfaces after peeling, and adhesive remover is required. Not suitable for repeatedly washed containers.

3. PP Synthetic Paper / PET Waterproof Labels

Plastic substrate with water and tear resistance.

 Features: Water, oil and temperature resistant, suitable for long-term marking in outdoor and cold-chain environments.

 Difference: The plastic material cannot dissolve in water and has to be peeled manually. Residue may still remain after removal. It is non-biodegradable. Designed for durable waterproof marking, which is completely opposite to water soluble labels that disappear in water.

4. Standard Direct Thermal Labels

Comes with heat-sensitive coating and requires no printing ribbon.

Features: Convenient printing at low cost, commonly used for shipping waybills.

Difference: No water dissolving property. Prints smudge and paper breaks in water without full dissolution. Adhesive residue remains after peeling, and printed content fades easily under heat.

5. Silver PET Labels

Metallic plastic film with scratch, solvent and high-temperature resistance.

Features: Extremely durable for equipment nameplates and permanent industrial marking.

Difference: Plastic substrate cannot hydrolyze. Labels are hard to peel cleanly and leave stubborn adhesive residue. Made for permanent identification, not for containers that need label removal during washing.

1. Shape & Size: Custom length and width. Square, round, oval and custom die-cut shapes are supported. Single-row or multi-row roll-format water dissolvable stickers are available.

2. Printing Content: Single color or CMYK full-color printing. Support LOGO, product names, descriptions, QR codes, barcodes, serial numbers and variable data printing for zero residue labels.

3. Roll Specifications: Custom core inner diameter, roll diameter and quantity per roll, compatible with mainstream barcode printers including Zebra and DYMO.

4. Material Formula Customization: Adjust water-soluble paper weight and adhesive dissolution speed (fast-dissolving / slow-dissolving water soluble labels). Optimized for different working temperatures and substrates including glass, PP plastic, stainless steel and ceramic.
